Minimum Wage

It's becoming harder and harder to make ends meet.  Prices are skyrocketing under Trump's tariffs and wages are staying the same.  In the state of Georgia, our minimum wage is a measly $5.15.  If you're a server, the minimum wage is even worse:  $2.13 plus the kindness of strangers.

Georgia Republicans claim that Georgia is the best place for business, but they ignore the fact that it's the worst place to be employed.

Our state doesn't require companies to pay out PTO to laid off employees, our laws make it nearly impossible to form a union, workers can be fired for any reason without notice, and employers do everything in their power to keep employees classified as part time, even while working full time minus an hour or two.

These are all issues that need to be addressed immediately, but the simplest first step that will help the most people in the shortest amount of time is to increase our minimum wage from $5.15 to $17.76.  If our great nation got its start in 1776, your wage should, too!
